One of the formative themes of Modern architecture is glass and its use in façades. Today – more than ever – glazed surfaces provide a special field for experimenting with form and integrated functions. Meinrad Morger presents projects by his firm in which glass has been used as a design element, e.g., the new Academy of Art and Design building of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in Basel. Daniel Meyer’s presentation includes current projects demonstrating technological and highly energy-efficient façade applications.
